THE REBUILDING OF THE COMMUNISTS YOUTH LEAGUE OF NORWAY (NKU) Communist Youth League of Norway (NKU) has a proud history as a fighter of fascism and imperialism, and as a front for the revolutionary youth of the working class. For a long time, NKU has not been a functioning organization, neither according to their own rules, nor as the youth organization of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP). This is a situation that NKP and the international communist movement does not benefit from. NKP's repeated inquiries to attempt dialogue and constructive solutions with the movement of the former NKU have been futile. During the 1. April 2006, the Central Comitee of NKP decided: "NKU in its present situation does not function as an organization, nor after their own rules. The present NKU is no longer considered the youth organization of NKP. NKP will take the necessary precautions to resurrect the Communist Youth Movement in Norway." Based on this, the Central Comitee of NKP has decided to resurrect the Communist Youth of Norway (NKU) as the youth organisation of NKP. In order to make the organization work, the Central Comitee of NKP has organized a conference in Trondheim on the 12. and 13. of May 2006, along with involved and active young communists. The youth conference in Trondheim the 12. - 13. of May 2006 has considered and unanimously supported the resurrection of the proud youth organization rich of tradition; Communist Youth of Norway (NKU), under the same name and logo, with the organization number 98995738. During the youth conference in Trondheim, a youth selection was founded, consisting of the young communists Alexander Zalewski of Western Norway, Are Ormberg of Oslo and Akershus, Jørgen Hovde of Buskerud and Vestfold, Vegard Thonstad, Kristin Dalehamn, Trygve W. Olsen, Willy Similä of Central Norway, in addition to Zafer Gözet, Svend Haakon Jacobsen and Harald Reppesgaard from the Central Committee of NKP. The youth selection will eventually be expanded by several young communists from entire Norway, in order to make NKU function as the youth organization of NKP once again. In accordance with this, a progression plan was created. The newly registered organization, Communist Youth League of Norway, is not responsible for economic, political and organizational issues that have occured due to the non-functioning organizational leadership in the former NKU. The conference apologizes for the tragic development that has taken place, and invites every young communist from the whole country to actively participate in rebuilding the Communist Youth League of Norway as the youth organization of the Communist Party of Norway.
